Metro Tunnel Celebrates 100,000 Visitor Milestone!

September 2019 marked 100,000 visitors at Metro Tunnel HQ in Swanston Street, Melbourne. To celebrate the monumental success of this globally leading, interactive Information Centre, our client RPV together with BEST. embarked on a suburban tour of duty.

Activating a pop-up, mobile version of HQ, our team took the activation into 5 shopping centres around Melbourne - strategically taking the HQ experience to the people.

We understand that not everyone has the opportunity to get into the city and immerse themselves in all the fun at Metro Tunnel HQ, and so RPV recognised a significant opportunity to create a mini pop-up version of the experience - and take it to the next level.

Ensuring that the pop-up activation could be agile for logistics purposes, the space was open and transparent and continued to deliver tactile and digital experiences that allow the community to better understand the wide ranging benefits of this landmark public transport infrastructure project in Victoria.

The space reflects the aesthetic of the permanent experiential design in Swanston Street... so there is a consistent linkage for Victorians across engaging with the Metro Tunnel in the built environment.

The activation was a roaring success, demonstrating that a focus on experiential design that is engaging and relevant really does resonate with the community. We look forward to continuing our strategic, human centred experiential consultancy with Rail Projects Victoria as the project continues to be built.
